Building design across South East Queensland — from two local offices

Design Science provides residential and commercial building design from two offices: Palm Beach on the Gold Coast, and Palmerin Street in Warwick on the Southern Downs. That footprint lets us service the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Toowoomba, the Southern Downs and Northern NSW with genuine local knowledge — not fly-in design work.

Every region we work in has its own rules and conditions. Gold Coast and Brisbane projects are shaped by their councils’ planning schemes, overlays and setback requirements. Coastal blocks carry different wind classifications than the Downs. Flood, bushfire and steep-land overlays change what’s buildable street by street. Because Design Science is led by David Steadman — who holds both a QBCC Building Designer and Builder licence, a combination fewer than 1% of professionals in Australia hold — our designs account for those local realities and how they affect buildability and cost from the first sketch.
